PHUKET: An honest man in Patong went to police today to expose his brother's connection with two motorcycle snatch thieves who had robbed as many as 10 tourists and residents.
The bad brother bought stolen items from the snatch thieves, police in Patong learned today as they rounded up the gang.
Good brother Sirawit Banping shared an apartment in Patong's Soi Koknam with bad brother Banharn.
He told officers at Kathu Police Station that Banharn often gained possession of mobile telephones and other items that could only have come from thefts.
Police immediately connected Sirawit's information, relayed to them about 11.30am, with a bag snatch committed in Soi Chaloem Phrakiat.
Nruman Thongkam, who works in Patong, had told police her bag was snatched by two young men on a motorcycle at 12.36am today.
Once bad brother Banharn was arrested he told them about his association with the thieves, one of whom is under age and as a minor cannot be identified.
All three confessed to as many as 10 robberies of tourists or residents, with Banharn buying the goods and selling them on.

I was a witness to this bag snatch last night of the girl in Soi Chaloem, I was on a bike just behind and gave chase but they were too fast and disappeared. The victim was very distressed, I hope they recovered some of her things. And I hope they lock up and throw away the key with these thieves.
