PHUKET: The 18 million baht football stadium at Phuket's Surin beach was opened yesterday with Phuket Governor Maitree Intrusud and Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation President Paiboon Upatising playing in a football match. Khun Paiboon was distinguished by his pink boots. The ground is floodlit and likely to prove popular with local schools.
