PHUKET: A large crowd watched an absorbing game of football last night as Phuket FC drew 1-1 with rivals Singh Tarua.
The star of the match was Phuket's striker Dudu, who fashioned a goal at the 54-minute mark that the Phuketwan photographer was in perfect position to capture.
For a few brief minutes, Phuket fans were able to live in hope that victory was theirs. The magic did not last.
At the 61st minute mark, Singh Tarua pulled back a goal through Diarra Ali - ironically once a player in the Phuket team.
The draw left Phuket FC in fifth spot on the Division One ladder, with Singh Tarua fractional higher, and a lot more to be decided as the season continues.
After nine matches so far this season, Phuket still has just one defeat - the blemish last weekend against Airforce, who also loom as one of Phuket's top rivals for promotion.
About 3000 fans turned out last night for the big game at home at Surakul Stadium in Phuket City.
