Phuket Tourists Have Tyres Slashed in Patong Parking Incident

Phuket Tourists Have Tyres Slashed in Patong Parking Incident

Tuesday, July 30, 2013
PHUKET: A Chinese family of tourists had the tyres of their car slashed in Phuket's west coast nightlife hub, Patong, early today.

The family parked the black Toyota in Rat-U-Tit 200 Pi Road, near the Phuket Electric Authority, and went out to have fun.

When they returned hours later, they discovered two tyres on the left-hand side had been slashed.

Police could only speculate that the vehicle had been parked in a spot that someone else considered was their territory.

Someone else's spot? I wonder which group of thugs that might have been? Well done to whoever on another pointless act destined to create more negative Patong episodes

I know this will not be published, but I hope Ed is reading it Nyway. This is the work of your so called monopoly guys, that we shall call m****.I have seen it happen before, and it will happen again and again. Until those m**** types are distinguished.

If you have some evidence, Charles, best hasten along to tell the police. If not, you're guessing and guessing is useless.

no need for speculation

I guess one of the many CCTV cameras installed over the years at great expense (and pocket lining) was unable to provide footage of this incident. Strange how that happens!

YOu defended the use of term farnag for ever, now you know the difference between an expat and a foreigner tourist, so get with it PW Ed. A group that manipulates prices through intimidation and monopoly is a m****. The Italian word has been passed onto the global lexicon.

What is a farnag? That sounds to me like a great way of describing a wife in another country.

Unless you take yourself and the world a bit more seriously and abandon the childish wordplays, fuxxake, you will be forever treated as a joke. A bad joke. Grow up, please.

Look out, laughing dave's on the case. He solves every case without needing to even find a witness.

Exactly the same thing happened to our car the last time we parked in Patong (in 2011) and that was the last time we visited Patong for sure. Before that happened we used to go there one or two times a week for a dinner and night out.

Exactly the same as was done to my buddies fortuna on Nanai.. His crime (parking in a safe clear stretch of roadside) was not blocking the motorbike taxi stand, but simply obscuring their view down the road.

Just out of control thuggishness, with zero police will to ever control them. I personally withnessed a tuktuk using black paint to paint out parking markers that had just been laid down on beach rd, with a cop stood less than 10 meters away diligently ignoring him.

parking on a motorbike taxi controlled parking lot, resulted in two sunglasses missing.

Damage for me: 200 baht
Gain for the thief: ireallydontknow..

I know the area they parked in. I parked there for a three min run into a dive shop and some beer-belly blue-bibbed shark told me to piss off or? I said or what? He pulled up his shirt to reveal a pistol stuck inside his pants belt. Ever since then I have been praying he would have an AD and blow his balls off. That was 2009 and I have not been back to Patong since. My friends and fellow tourists do not go to Patong either.
