PHUKET: Heavy rain was causing serious flooding across parts of Phuket City today. Traffic backed up for five kilometres. People warned that motorcyclists were unable to pass the SuperCheap site in Thepkasattri Road, Phuket's main thoroughfare, because the rainwater was too deep. The bikes disappeared under the water. Residents were puzzled because the storm barely lasted an hour. Wreckage from the big blaze may have blocked drains, they figured.
The downpours have been known to come as a result of the typhoon in Philippines for quite some time.
Perhaps someone should have checked if the drains are indeed clear but hey, mai pen rai.
