Scotland is voting today.
Although their grudge and animus toward UK - mainly city of London - is understandable, it is worth to note that all capitals looks mostly out-of-touch of the rest of the country, being it London, Tokyo or Bangkok.
So many crucial issues were not though over or are dependent on the goodwill of rUK, mostly budget matters, currency, trade, the EU etc, left it to be "worked out later" - that surely will happen, simply it it can be resulted in beneficial or not beneficial solutions for Scotalnd, that is unknown now.
Although Yes vote for sure will satisfy emotional needs, whether other needs will be satisfied is absolutely unclear.
And in a current geopolitical situation in Europe a dissection of UK will result in an aggregate rUK+Scotland foreign affairs position being only weaker, and as a consequence the weaker EU too, that is quite irresponsible.

Freddie.
Just to let you know, we have the big guns working on this case. TNM, a renown linguist and former specialist code breaker has been asked by the CIA to remain in Phuket delaying her recall to the US.
Unnamed sources suggest that rogue, former KGB officers are thought to be in hiding on the island and these posts are their coded communications leading up to a big event. Their mission is to destabilise the community to take the heat off their activity.
So far the following has been decoded
Urgent communication from Agent Chekoski, alias Sue. Stop. Location Phuket. Stop.
Large group of plumbers having a conference on Island mid September. Stop.
Shrimps disguised as lobster now available. Stop.
Have obtained video evidence. Stop.
Residents becoming suspicious of my activity. Stop. Will do all necessary to assist Russian takeover during political crisis.stop

Sue as a Scot I resent your poorly researched verbal discharge on my country of origin. Contrary to your deluded opinion not all Scots people think in this way, that is why there is a referendum to assess the majority sentiment, we call it democratic process.
Perhaps you should seek some help because your apparent compunction to self validate is bordering obsessive. ( No I don't want a regurgitated internet definition from you) Please seek some help.
Ps your ridicule of condemed prisoners shows that your moral compass is way of line.

@Brian
Don't bring fallacy argument: nobody challenged democratic procedure or or prejudiced a possible outcome etc., except that I doubted what is a rational behind voting YES:
it is wide known and accepted that most, if not all, crucial questions on how Scotland will live after independence are not addressed even on a green paper level, and many are subject to negotiations with the rUK, i.e. it depends to big extent on good will of rUK.
Issues of budget shortfall (14B GBP figure has been aired), currency, whether labour market of rUK will be open for Scots and to which extent - just to name few.
It is apparent that only major valid argument for YES is a will to part with rUK, that is driven by mainly by animus toward city of London with everything what it has - Westminster, global financial industry etc., that is nothing bad, if would be only complemented by solutions, at least have drafts of it, on major post-secession issues.
Acting first, thinking later, on realizing a scope of consequences and counting, is not a reasonable approach, that is why YES vote looks unreasonable to me.
Moreover, segmentation of Europe at time of tense geopolitical situation in Europe, when Russia coming with ever aggressive demands, is irresponsible, a segmentation of the EU and intra-EU squabbles play only on the hand of Russia, therefore Scotland secession would make a security situation in Europe only worse.
P.S. Last time 'Brian' introduced himself as of Central Asia origin - that is designation of five countries , -stans, with truly terrible human right record, most of them ruled by ugly dictators, economics is let down and people are extremely poor, big part of their population has migrated for economical reason to Russia, where they earn less then Burmese guest workers in the Kingdom.
Still, it doesn't prejudice that 'Brian' , his sisters and brothers got a residence permit in UK and even (2nd) citizenship, because as much poor are pissant in their countries, as rich are those folks from -stans countries who spend on par with sheikhs in London and Edinburgh, and are well respected by British people because they spend so much stolen from -stans's citizen money on UK soil.
Look at this sample of 'Brian' from -stan and his GFs species, who got a right to reside in UK:

My oh my Pete, your comment made me laugh so loud I dropped my Pimms.
Perhaps I have had one too many though because I for the life of me could see nothing about the Scottish Referendum in this particular article. Perhaps I missed it through the tears of laughter?
Or perhaps the thought of those fellows in prison being groupies has caused 'Sue' to come over all unnecessary and lose the plot completely? No, that can't be right, it's nothing new.
Well, as one would appear to be posting random comments about unconnected news, I have one.
Those clever Canadian chaps have developed a chin strap that generates electricity whilst you chew. How splendid. Perhaps we could all club together an buy one for 'Sue' so she can charge her tin foil hat. I have a sneaky suspicion that she talks as she types.

Dear all. I've cracked it: Simply run Sue's comments through Google translation into Slovenian. Then translate (using self-same above method) into Tiroler-Deutsch (pls note this will NOT work in Schweizer-Deutsch) and back into English et voila! You still get a verbose, opinionated, ill-informed diatribe.
But it's infinitely more entertaining.

@Pete
Although you acted on many occasions as a passionate supporter of the freedom of speech for the causes that should be rightly admired,
unfortunately you do not grasp the whole meaning of a freedom speech that you as the UK national should be aware of, namely in terms of racial hate speech prohibition that is a reasonable democratic restriction of the freedom of speech.
Prohibition of racial hate speech under its special definition is the very European feature, it doesn't exist in such form in the Kingdom - so within the Kingdom, in general, with few exceptions, you can enjoy producing a hate speech pamphlets, and generally a hate speech as a crime doesn't exist in US, same in a majority of other democratic countries.
In this particular part you are as dumb as the spouse of the Head of your State, so I even wonder whether you went to the same class with the spouse, as you both rescind each other a lot in this aspect.
I'm rising concern here that your comment on 18.09.2014. at 09:19 above may well be falling under criminalized Racist Hate Speech definition as provided by
"European Union Council Framework Decision 2008/913/JHA of 28 November 2008
on combating certain forms and expressions of racism and xenophobia by means of criminal law"
http://goo.gl/xmx8vj
the Article 1 whereof stipulates the following acts that to be criminalized by the EU member countries:
"(a) publicly inciting to ... hatred directed against a group of persons or a member of such a group defined by reference to ... descent or national or ethnic origin;
(b) the commission of an act referred to in point (a) by public dissemination or distribution of tracts, pictures or other material;"
There few optional qualifiers in the Article 1(c), that have been adopted e.g. by the UK, which criminalized by the mean of Sec. 18(1), Sec.5 et al of the Public Order Act of 1986 the conduct of stirring up hatred that is threatening, abusive or insulting.
( there is 2014 report on implementation of the Framework Decision by the member countries
http://goo.gl/C2ugZv
that discloses that the said provision have been fully implemented)
Moreover, in respect of jurisdiction, beyond territorial principle, e.g. the UK has not excluded extension of its jurisdiction to crimes committed by its nationals beyond its territory.
As well in term of online publications e.g.the UK has a jurisdictions over the publications that are accessible from its territory.
I took a note, that e.g.the UK routinely exercised its jurisdiction over other recently criminalized acts that committed abroad, for example sex tourism abroad, for which few Brits already have been detained on arrival back to the UK from such trips.
Thus would you direct your hate speech to a particular group that is defined above, like Irishmen, Roma, EastEuropean, Indians etc., that will constitute an act, that is now criminalized across Europe and a justice can reach you in some unexpected way.
May be you was too long away from Europe, so that you missed such latest developments.
Therefore your conduct is quite on the way to those Rakhine majority population, however you still have not fully arrived there.
Some people 5555 until they are faced with a urgent need to hire a lawyer.

How it was about work permits to collect a dung from under your pony? Since you're doing this job on regular basis, it surely qualifies to be considered by Labour department. To get a permit you have to present to Labour department your credentials on your qualifications to perform such pony-service, and probably it is better to contact them before they contacted you.
People often falling into uncontrolled laugh with a minimum stimulation on occasions like when they smoked few joints, that resulted in residues of their intelligence being left impaired.
It is quite rare in the Kingdom to meet in a public place a person that produce pungent sweat or dung smell, and if happens, then virtually never they are Thais, but some sort of foreigners. On regular occasions I met in some upscale food store an expat who profoundly smelled soo bad of sweat , and, yes, of dung , so I wonder whether it was you, Lord Melchett, who doesn't dare to change a shirt, shorts and underwear and to take shower after cleaning your pony before produce himself to a public place...?

'' They think our country is beautiful and is safe so they can do whatever they want, they can wear bikinis and walk everywhere,'' General Prayuth told officials. ''Can they be safe in bikinis?'' REALLY ?? Oh my God..
This seems a very odd comment by the good General - we know that Hannah was young and attractive - I hope the General isn't inferring that attractive young women in bikinis may be putting themselves at risk - simply for wearing what is viewed as 100% acceptable attire - for a world-famous beach holiday resort.
After a tragedy of these horrific proportions - it behooves people to "tread softly" - inferring that an attractive young lady wearing a bikini could be a deadly proposition - Infers that the General is cognizant that too many people cannot control themselves when faced with beauty.
I believe the General was trying to be honest - but the perception is not good.
I hope the families don't read that simply wearing beach attire at the beach could provoke murderous tendencies from depraved individual(s)..
Correct me if I am wrong here - but the General's comments seem (unintentionally ) inflammatory.
One thing - too many murders and deaths happen after 3 AM

You stand on NO vote, that's your position,at the above comment nobody questioned it. Still roughly half of voters have YES intentions.
I question whether YES choice is a reasonable one, as most of separation issues were not worked out even at green paper level, and it is quite alarming.
UK is a part of the EU, and of NATO, so other EU and NATO members are stakeholders to this process too, so we are watching development , analyzing and making our judgement, no more than on CocaCola Inc. shares, where to make a judgment if you have interest in these shares you don't need to be CC employee.
Absolutely open, nog investigated and accordingly not resolved issues, are budget shortfall, like reported of ca.14B GBP annually, currency, labour movement between Scotland and rUK and many more - these are so apparent one so it's impossible not see them.
Duncan Blair, are you among those 750,000 Scots residing abroad who don't have right to vote in this referendum? Then we are pretty much in similar position, but for different reasons.

Re:Ukraine
I'm doing this on regular occasion, and very actively.
My one proposal in that regard that was even published once here, check the archive... , for the Kingdom administration was the following:
out of solidarity with the neighbor Malaysia on MH17 ,
and because of popular support for Mr.Putin, an autocrat, voted into office by semi-democratic procedure,
to make this general population feel, that the world doesn't accept current policies of Mr.Putin, otherwise they will never learn,
to remove visa-free travel between for Russian citizens, and install similar procedures as are in place for Thais wishing to travel to Schengen or UK, with mandatory interviews.
As result number of Russian tourists will drop, and their will be left mostly independent affluent travelers.
This in turn would improve environment for all other tourists, as a result, if properly marketed, surely European tourists should return en masse - and this is good thing.
If done right now, then it still possible to get effect in high season.
I am sure other travelers , in particular from Europe, will love such changes.
Our MFA is very outspoken on the issues you risen. I am personally in touch with them on this and they are lobbying hard many things that e.g.UK FCO resists , like naming DNR/LNR as terrorist organizations - as it would put them under very heavy pressure virtually 360 grades, financing, all network, detention procedure etc., hopefully EU MFA Council on coming meeting on 23.09. will finally resolve the issue positively.
But what about UK and its people? It seems that AMLO doesn't exist in UK, as huge amounts of apparently stolen monies from Russia and -stans are welcomed by Londoners and not only. Of course, it give work to many people in construction, banking, hospitality industries, restaraunts, for gardener and yes, plumbers, too - but it is not right thing.
Moreover, all those people are earning money mainly in West, to big extent with a help of City, and then this money Russian state is using to invade Ukraine and may be other parts of Europe.
When I read readers' comments on issue in The Guardian, Telegraph, Daily Mail and others, absolute majority are PRO-Putin, on various pre-texts : "so strong leader", "they have right to do what they", "they bring us money and we don't care about the rest" and so on, so that I can't believe my eyes what I'm reading, are they all are Chamberlain's grandsons..?
You as UK citizen may take steps that you can to explain people what is right and what is wrong.
And yes, Pete, we're in one boat - the EU, the NATO, that's why we will always carefully follow what going on in UK domestic politics and economy, as it has direct or material indirect impact in the field of security, general foreign affairs, trade and so on, and, yes, will make our opinion known.

Exactly, you sand on just emotional basis - with a goal just be an independent country, out of the Union, without consideration of any other aspects.
That is I pointed about - that YES vote pursue mostly emotional issues.
"State" is an instrument for quality of life on a wider sense, not a goal on itself.
Yes, a "State" subject can wrapped in various psychological issues, that acrrued because of historical misdeed, and then it turns upside down.
Sorry, at least, the UK, is a part of the EU, so we have interest in its domestic politics, economy, we will watch, observe, analyze what is going on, and yes, we will make our opinions on all that, and will make these opinions known.

Yet again more worthless, pointless and self opinionated guff from a clearly delusional semi literate, incomprehensible Gollum.
Clearly irony, wit and adoption of a persona for comedic effect in writing are beyond your capacity of understanding. Much like your inability to stick to the point or write in a concise and coherent fashion.
So you have worked out how Google works. Well done. Your carers will be so proud. It's very much like how chimpanzees have worked out how to use tools. The difference is they have a comprehension of what they are doing...you clearly do not. Yes, we all spring from apes but you didn't spring far enough.
What I find highly amusing is your self deluded belief that you are in some way qualified to admonish Scottish people that your views are right and they are emotionally wrong! Your arrogance is only exceeded by your stupidity.
As to your obsession about others weight, it is a usual indicator of someone who has weight issues of their own. Rather than wasting yours and our time by bashing at your keyboard with your trotters why don't you get up, squeeze yourself through the door of whatever sordid grief hole you haunt and go outside and do something more fulfilling than trolling others with your inane ranting. Perhaps call some of your friends that you claim to have. I will give you twenty cents to call them...but I expect change!
Oh and don't worry about going outside, no one will ever know that you've had a lobotomy, if you wear a wig to hide to the scars and learn to control the slobbering
Now, as it's Friday, time for some cocktails. Had a hard day at polo and cleaning up the dung. I have nearly collected enough to make a statue! Think I may name it Sue.
