PHUKET: It was another busy weekend for Kathu Director Veera Kerdsirimongkol, who has been conducting raid after raid.
On Saturday at 1.30pm he and his team arrested Somkid Towrob, 54, on a property at the 126-metre mark in the protected Phuket hills near Kathu waterfall.
Khun Somkid failed to produce a chanote land title for the area where a resort has been slowly emerging after construction began two years ago.
Khun Veera has made a number of raids aimed at eradicating drugs and bringing illegal land developments to a halt in his part of Phuket.
The island has three large districts, Kathu, Thalang and Phuket City (Muang.) Khun Veera has been extremely active since his appointment in Kathu.
''I don't care who these people are,'' Khun Veera said today. '''My role is to protect the forests and the environment.''
