Governor Maitree Intrusud looks on at dancing ladyboys last night

Police Arrest Owner of Patong Ping Pong Show

UPDATING All Day, Every Day

TWO Patong venues - Secrets and Seasons - were investigated by undercover police, Phuketwan has learned. It is believed both venues have the same owner. Rihanna visited Seasons.

Original Report

PHUKET: Undercover police last night arrested the owner of a sex show in Patong that international pop singer Rihanna visited when she was on Phuket.

The arrest came just before Governor Maitree Intrusud and Phuket's new Police Commander, Major General Ongart Phiewruangnon, visited Patong's famous Soi Bangla tourist walking street about 10pm.

The governor and the police commander went to the venue where the arrest had taken place. By the time they visited, the ping pong show had been replaced with dancing ladyboy katoeys.

The Director of Kathu District, Veera Kerdsirimongkol, who oversees Patong, was with the governor and the police commander.

Khun Veera said that police in plain clothes had earlier visited the same venue and as a result arrested the owner, Waranyoo Jornmuang. He would be charged with running the lewd show.

Last month's visit by Rihanna to Patong resulted in her tweeting to fans: Either I was phuck wasted lastnight, or I saw a Thai woman pull a live bird,2 turtles, razors, shoot darts and ping pong, all out of her pu$$y

The pop star also posted on the internet a ''selfie'' of her with a slow loris. Touts photograph the cuddly protected creatures with tourists in exchange for cash.

Two arrests of slow loris touts came soon after Rihanna's visit but others have since been seen still operating in Patong's Soi Bangla walking street.

Last night no slow loris touts or sex show touts could be found as the governor shook hands with tourists and greeted bar workers.

He said later that the tourists had told him they liked Soi Bangla very much and intended to come back again with friends.

Most of the women who work in the bars told the governor they came from Thailand's Isarn region.

I would like to know more about the accused. IMO it would be material fact if it was established how the accused was able to operate for an extended period of time with the knowledge of local officials. It would also be interesting to know who the actual owner of the operation is. (I am allowed to hope.)

Amazing that one woman's crusade to clean up Bangla has had a greater impact than years of talk from Gov't entities. ;-)

With the ping-pong shows now replaced with dancing ladyboys, Soi Bangla has now become a family-friendly venue.

Rihanna = the next Mother Theresa?

Snapped no fewer than three slow loris's and their "carers" the other night.... To Jacgem... I never see them chasing the tourists with the Loris but more the giant bloody lizards... Very funny to see the reactions of some when they see these things...

Call me a cynic but it looks like another staged photo op. By tonight it will be business as usual.

The picture is much bigger here - the demographics of tourists paying to have their picture taken with animals that have a miserable life are nearly all from developing countries where protection and EDUCATION about wildlife is limited. If they were educated they would know better like the tourists from developed countries. Cut off the money the touts move on to something else.
