It is funny, on Phuket island are busses, minivans, cars, SUV's always landing on their roof with the wheels up. Cars only tumble that way when they driving high speed. Well, we wait for more to come today and tomorrow. Yesterday we had that bus accident on Patong hill. Keep it up, 'professional' drivers!

many cars have very worn tyres the list goes on and on....this is part of life in Thailand....if you are in the wrong place and this happens you die, like a motorbike along side when the tyre blows on a car.....

It would be nothing to do with speeding, tailgating and weaving through traffic as 9 out of 10 airport limousine's do all the time

I may think twice about getting in a taxi with wide low profile tyres, big bore exhaust and racing stripes even if it has an LPG sticker on it. My guess the driver didn't mod the car like that to drive slowly.

The only place in the world where blow outs turn the car upside down. More to the point it's the moron drivers. Making excuses.

Ed: You must have a standard template for this story, it is so repetitive? Rhetorical question as I know you report fair & square. But these so called instances of 'tyre failure' are becoming 'tyre some'.

It is really time for the police to do some real policing on the airport roads & related routes, to put an end to this ridiculous limousine racing nonsense. Ditto the mini bus tour drivers.

They need to do away with City Limit speed limit signs & put up effective signs with the speed limit value in plain figures that all can understand. Even the police cannot tell me what City Limit speed limit is!?

Is Phuket the only part of Thailand that cannot use speed guns to catch the Formula 1 wannabes? I travel around Thailand & they are commonplace pretty well all over the country & used.

I've driven a car when the tyre blows, while doing about 90 kph. That never happened, its not the movies.

Why don't recycle all the unused beach chairs into roll bars for taxis?
