Suspicious absence of some of the most obnoxious vendors on Patong beach - who try to sell those idiotic fleutas - provably is related to the fact that they are not "local poor people ", but citizens of the neighbor state.

@Sue,

Because the vendors have left for Songkhran, they must be Cambodian? How do you figure that?
You do know that Thais also head home for the holiday, right?
These vendors could come from anywhere in Thailand.

@Sir Burr

because I know that so many beach vendors are Cambodian.
Even if they are Thai they supposed to be residents of the municipality where they procure a trade, as it was repeatedly stared, this occupation is reserved "for the very poor local (=of that district/sub-district) people".

Wasn't it a bit too early for Thai from other princes to leave Phuket to go home for Songkran on 4th or 5th of April..?

But these flute retail distributors should be coercively excluded from the beach environment as they yo intentionally create noise pollution and their goods have zero relation to a beach.
