PHUKET: A walking street in Old Phuket Town will be held every Sunday following the successful launch yesterday of the Lardyai (big market). Hundreds of residents and expats turned out from 4pm on in Thalang Road and Soi Romanee to enjoy the local Phuket food, souvenirs and hospitality. Sidewalk cafes also opened and there was a festive atmosphere that is likely to draw visitors away from the holiday west coast hubs of Patong, Kata, Karon and Kamala regularly.
