POLICE believe a man arrested allegedly bringing yah ba methamphetamine onto Phuket last night is a large-scale drugs dealer.
Boonsong Pinkeaw, 34, was a driver at Thalang Technical College but abandoned the role, apparently because drugs were more lucrative, say police at Tachatchai policed station.
A tip-off led to Mr Boonsong's arrest at 7pm last night at the north-island checkpoint for vehicles coming from the mainland onto Phuket.
Police say they found 200 yah ba pills in his socks. He was also carrying 169,000 baht in cash. Police said his seven bank account books all contained large-scale transactions involving hundreds of thousands of baht.
He was carrying five ATM cards. The vehicle he was driving, a new Toyota, has been impounded.
