PHUKET: Two bandits robbed a Phuket gold store of necklaces and rings valued at 2.5 million baht this afternoon.
The men - whose faces were captured by a security camera as they rode away - are being hunted by police all over Phuket.
The robbers had attempted to disguise their identity by wearing wigs that they dumped as they fled about 1.30pm.
Carrying a fake gun and a hammer, the men held up the three women in the shop, including the owner of the Yongchuan store, in a sidestreet off the main road between Phuket City east to Koh Sireh.
Investigating police found a motorcycle two kilometres from the shop that they believed was used as the getaway vehicle.
A wig and a hammer were with the motorcycle, which is registered in the name of a Burmese construction worker.
Leading the investigation is Major Yhada Sodarak of Phuket City.
