PHUKET: A man with a .38 handgun in the glovebox of his car was subdued in a dramatic confrontation with police in Phuket City today.
Two truckloads of police were called to the scene near a market in the Samkong district when patrol officers spotted the man waving a long staff at passersby in a dangerous manner.
He had left his car in the road about 8.40am and was threatening to ''kill you all.''
Police blocked off traffic with the two trucks then subdued the man in spectacular fashion, as Phuketwan's photo album shows.
Pongsak Pitchaphan, 41, who was forced to the roadway in Soi Paneang 5, was being held at Phuket City Police Station while police made further investigations.
Did they ever find his tuk tuk?
