PHUKET: White masks reappeared at Saphan Hin park in Phuket City this afternoon as the Mask Phuket Group staged a meeting.

Protected from the weather by a marquee, speakers raised issues that have reignited political divisions over the Pheu Thai ruling government and its attitude to Phuket.

The crowd was much smaller than last Sunday when as estimated crowd of more than 1000 gathered to hear speakers.

Criticism has focussed especially on Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi, who said the previous week that Phuket could not expect much from the government until citizens voted for the Government.

The truth is probably a little different. Even when the Democrat Party favored by Phuket voters was in power, Phuket gained little in the way of vital infrastructure.

Gatherings took place at 16 other towns and cities around Thailand, according to social media.
