PHUKET: The Simon Star Show held its grand opening last night in Phuket City to entertain the tour representatives who have already helped to make it a success.
Spectacular is the word for the 130 million baht Simon Cabaret spinoff that gives the east side of Phuket a taste of the razzle dazzle that the west, Patong in particular, has been enjoying since 1991.
An undersea segment and the action-packed descent of a helicopter are among the highlights of the Simon Star Show, with 90 percent of the acts different to those in Patong.
''Photos with the Stars'' for many remains the most memorable part of the evening as the performers parade for their guests. Seventy performers turn on plenty of razzle and dazzle in 16 acts - a full 75 minutes' worth.
There are nightly shows at 6pm, 7.45pm and 9.30pm. Tickets are 800 baht. The purpose-built theatre can be found near Rajabhat University in Phuket City.
