A MOTORCYCLIST shot the driver of a car in Phuket City yesterday - and the driver then tried to run over the fallen shooter as he lay on the road.
At least three shots were fired in the drama, which involved Mark Au-Domphubet, 27, the son of a former French honorary consul, as the target. Officers are hunting the motorcyclist, who ran off on foot.
One shot winged Khun Mark in the arm and he later drove to Vachira Phuket Hospital for treatment of a flesh wound.
Phuket City police said they believed the motive for the shooting was probably a business deal gone wrong.
Officers said the man on the motorcycle had an altercation with Khun Mark in Phang Nga Road about 4pm yesterday, then both turned into the soi alongside the Thairod Market, where the motorcyclist pulled a gun and fired, hitting the Mazda and shattering the windscreen.
Police said the motorcyclist tipped his motorbike in firing - usually motorcycle assassins ride in pairs, one riding, one shooting.
Realising his attacker had fallen down, Khun Mark turned his car and tried to run over the rider as he lay on the ground. More shots were fired, police said.
The shooter recovered his footing and ran off. Police plan to talk to Khun Mark about the shooting again today.

Sounds more like road rage than an attempt at murder.
The lesson here is to not p1ss off anyone on a bike as they may be armed.

Yes, we asked the same question about road rage but police said it was most likely a business matter gone awry. The two knew each other.
