PHUKET: Two icecream salesmen failed to keep their cool in Patong today, with one vendor killing the other in a dispute over territory.
Nai, 24, who was killed, had been selling around the Phisit Koranee Road area in Patong for two years.
Police are now hunting a rival ice cream vendor, Yae, 32, who stabbed him to death about 11.30am today. Yae had been selling in the district for about three months.
Both men were Burmese, said the investigating officer, Lieutenant Colonel Jongserm Preecha, of Kathu Police Station.
It's believed the dispute escalated over time.
Even though Nai had been selling in the area longer than Yae, Yae became aggressive and killed his rival.
Yae is believed to have fled with his wife after the killing today.
Both men's icecream saamlor - motorcycles with sidecars and containers for icecream - were found near the scene of the killing.

"Failed to keep their cool" is perhaps the understatement of the week, considering it ended up in murder.
Just another sad example of the madness that results when foolish pride and saving face supercedes common sense and decency.
This will NOT help to improve the local sentiment towards Burmese.
