Police said around 2500 demonstrators - many wearing yellow and waving national flags - gathered at a sports stadium in Bangkok, after protesters agreed a change in venue to avoid confrontation with authorities.

Arrested in his Thai girlfriend's apartment, Ichiro Ogushi, 35, had been on the run since immigration authorities discovered that a death certificate presented to the Japanese Embassy was counterfeited, said police.

AND

Doesn't this seem a little strange, Bangkok is under emergency decree, no gatherings larger than 5 people, but the Yellow shirts are allowed to gather at another location, or did I read this wrong? If the Yellow shirts were there to give the PM a letter, why didn't they do it at the two hour meeting?
