A Suratthani native, Khun Woranart has worked in Thailand's marine industry for more than 20 years, over 10 of those at Royal Phuket Marina where she has worked her way through the ranks to be recently appointed marina manager.
''Joining Royal Phuket Marina at the beginning, I have enjoyed being part of the development team and have seen the marina and facilities grow. I admire the vision of the Chairman, Gulu Lalvani, who is always looking to develop the company and marine tourism in Phuket, and am very proud of his confidence in appointing me as the Marina Manager,'' Khun Woranart said.
Being the only Thai female marina manager in Thailand and one of just a few Thai nationals who have held the post, Khun Woranart acknowledges the importance of team work.
''The most enjoyable part of my work at Royal Phuket Marina is the marina team. They are passionate and professional. I am proud to be a part of this team and together we strive to deliver the best service possible to our customers,'' Khun Woranart added.
Before embarking on a career in the marine industry, Khun Woranart worked in the travel industry and made a name for herself in companies such as Diethelm Events (Phuket), Tropic Asia Tours, The Travel Company, Fast Boats, Asia Voyages and the Pansea resort.
Khun Woranart brings this hospitality and tourism experience to bear in her new managerial position and is confident in the future potential of Phuket and Thailand's marine leisure tourism potential.
''It's encouraging that central government sees the importance of marine tourism for Thailand. Here at Royal Phuket Marina we look forward to working closely with government officials in all departments to promote and develop the industry further.''
The first and only five Gold Anchor-awarded marina in Thailand and first to receive the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2015, Royal Phuket Marina is the premier lifestyle destination in Phuket and iconic waterfront destination in Asia.

Gender still remains relevant in breakthrough appointments. Check that glass ceiling, sid. Mostly-male industries and sports - like sailing - have yet to completely embrace equality. This is a positive move.
