PHUKET: A woman motorcyclist died today when she slid under the wheels of a tourist bus in southern Phuket.

This is so sad. Thailand is lacking on so many levels with safety and investigation of road deaths clearly as they have no intention of changing, but the Thai people (and foreigners) are dying in far too high numbers and also being crippled in road accidents. Army please make changes to protect us. So sad for this young lady.

So the bus decided to not wait for oncoming traffic (the woman on the motorbike) and so decided to cut across the lane and forced the woman to crash and die.
Driver should be held accountable for man slaughter, lose his licence and be sent straight to prison.
This is one of the most common accidents where auto-mobiles are always pulling out on motorbikes.
Those people who drive motorbikes would have definitely had it happen to them at least once.
There is no excuse for lazy/bad driving.

Editor Comment:
No way of being sure of precise details of fault in this case.
why didn't the bus let her pass before he turned right?
just another innocent victim of a reckless bus-driver!
RIP.

Editor Comment:
No way of knowing, Herbert.
So, if the bus turned "right" into the shooting range, it must have been heading toward the Chalong Circle and cut across the path of the oncoming deceased.
Appears to be a case of obvious Culpable Driving.

Very sad...it looks like the bus turned left and the lady did not see the signal and went in to the side. Ok i don't know for sure but it just seems logical.
TBS i see every day motorbikes pulling on to roads without looking left, they expect people to let them go. The driving skills are shocking here but that's not to say this poor lady did anything wrong at all. RIP Rapeepat..

I agree with other comments, appreciated it is not always easy to see motorbikes but if the bus turned right the motorcycle would be in very clear sight and the lady could not avoid such a large vehicle.

R.I.P.
I think it is wrong to come with so many explains why this tragedy happened, there can only the police an witneses to the acident together find out. But, there are to many trafic acidents here in Phuket and rest of Thailand, something has to be done, better education before get the licence for all sorts of licences, but I think nothing will be done with this problem.
Thailand is nr 2 in the world with deaths on the roads,26500 every year and how many injuried - WHY?

u just don't pass a Bus that hit the breaks .. it is a possibility anything can happen.. just drive slow and lookout what is going on... seriously i seen millions or so motorbike drivers texting on the phone while driving. anything could have happen here. attention lack could even be possible... in my country u always responsible if u hit some one from behind... if the bus cut oncoming traffic she was 33 and should have know this could happen.. slow down people...

I agree with comment of Hugh Jarse. I have seen the scene after the 'accident'.
Well, we all know busses, water tankers, cement trucks, they just go and go because they are the 'strongest'. We all know that, however, strangely the motorbike thai knowing that too, but they do not anticipate on that behavior. The lady drove without helmet with high speed. Pity.
