PHUKET: A replacement tsunami warning buoy is making the 10-day journey to a spot 1000 km offshore from Phuket on board the MV Seafdec accompanied by a crew of 30, including three American experts. The vessel left Phuket on Monday. One aim will be to alert the Sri Lanka Navy to check to make sure the new buoy is not moved out of position, like the previous buoy, by passing Rohingya smugglers or a large fishing vessel. The buoys are changed every two years.
So they change the buoys now then instead of the previous problems with batteries sounds better they can do checks at same time
