PHUKET: A towering waterspout caused a storm in Phuket's holiday hub of Patong early this afternoon with locals saying they'd never seen anything quite like it. The waterspout quickly dissipated. There is no suggestion that the Heavens are angry that the beaches have been cleared of umbrellas and sunbeds. Halloween stunt, perhaps?
