Thailand's largest ship is now involved in search and rescue off Phuket

Thailand's Largest Vessel Joins Fleet in Search and Rescue

Saturday, May 30, 2015
PHUKET: The Royal Thai Navy allowed a Phuket media party to tour the 4.9-billion-baht HTMS Ang Thong, largest of the seven vessels devoted to search and rescue operations for Rohingya and Bangladeshis who may still be desperate and stranded at sea by the region's human traffickers.

Thailand will ''help on'' any vessels it finds to other destinations.

Good they are devoting more resources, but I think you will find the HTMS Chakri Naruebet is a much larger vessel, saw that under construction in ferrol spain. This one maybe largest being used in this operation but not the largest in Thailand's fleet

Editor Comment:

You're right. It's larger.

Might be more accurate if the headline read "Thailand's Largest "OPERATIONAL" Vessel Joins Fleet in Search and Rescue

A assault ship similar to Australian Canberra class or American wasp class seem to be the flavor for Navies world wide now Thailand seems no exception.
