Thailand Tourists' Luxury Oriental Express Trip Halted by 100m Baht Blaze

PHUKET: A fire badly damaged a rail locomotive today and stranded 200 European tourists who were on a luxurious Eastern and Oriental Express adventure. Six local fire trucks in Kanchanaburi extinguished the blaze about 8.30am after the 17 carriages had been uncoupled. Early estimates put the cost of the blaze at 100 million baht. The train was bound from Bangkok to Singapore.

Oriental Express is a nice way to see S.E.A.
It's sad that they got a problem of such scale.

A beautiful train, that is dearly loved by train enthusiasts worldwide. Glad to see that they managed to uncouple the carriages, which are distinguished by their craftsmanship and beauty.
