PHUKET: ''RIP Charlene'' says the new cursive script behind the right ear of Polish tattooist Davee, in memory of his friend Charlene Jade Tay, killed in a motorcycle crash on her way to Phuket.
Ms Tay, the creative director at advertising agency McCann Worldgroup in Singapore, was travelling with friends to Phuket when an oncoming car killed her instantly.
Fellow rider, Anthony Chaw suffered two broken hands and a broken right leg and is now in Phuket International Hospital, Singapore's 'New Paper' reported.
The crash took place about 3pm on Thursday in Krabi, the report said. The pair were believed to be at the front of a convoy of six riders. Phuketwan is seeking details from Krabi police.
From all accounts, Ms Tay enjoyed life and tattoos. She had a full-sleeve of various animals on her right arm and two sparrows on her upper chest.
Mr Davee, a friend, posted a picture on social networking site Facebook yesterday of the new tattoo behind his right ear.
Many of Ms Tay's Singapore friends were marking in Facebook messages the too-brief life of the much-admired young woman.
"Some pursue riches, some pursue careers, but you my friend, you pursue your dreams, and in my humble opinion, you lived life to the fullest,'' one friend wrote.
Another said: ''The years we spent as teammates, classmates and friends are priceless. Thank you for touching our lives in different ways. See you on the other side, Charlene. Try not to have too much fun without us.''
