such estimate obviously is based on some good old memories,and probably paired up not only with memories exclusively of the airport.

I consider Samui the worst airport in the world:
- inconvenient,
- wrongly designed,
- not enough functional and
- estehically ugly,
however first time I've been to Samui airport only in 2004.

Overall I find Samaui most unpleasant place in Thailand and avoid it at all cost - it is overdeveloped in coastal zone much more than Phuket, potentially swimming beaches always have surf, and are narrow, except few small strips of Chaweng,; only nice view on the sea from the above, like 4Seasons on the hill and similar properties without swimming beaches.
Snail-slow traffic.
Chaweng and Lamai are covered with cabins reminiscent to those of construction workers, but are still called "hotels".
Etc.

@sue was wonderful in 94 why change a winning formula had a 4 star on the beach in chaweng the garden city from memory beautiful tropical airport no touts tuk tuks or other bs maybe I was there b4 over commercialism pretty good then
