PHUKET: Police have forwarded to the Phuket Prosecutor's office paperwork suggesting cases of reckless endangerment be pursued against two men over the fatal plunge of a tourist at a holiday island bungy jump.
Investigator Major Teerasak Boonsaeng of Kathu Police Station told Phuketwan today that documents were sent to the Prosecutor's office on Wednesday naming the owner of the bungy jump, Vinat Chanthornwiboonkul, and a staff member, Manoon Nilman.
Major Teerasak said he had no knowledge of whether the family of Kuwait tourist Abdullah Adel Kadhmbahman, 25, had succeeded in an increased claim for compensation above the figure of 300,000 baht offered in July.
Mr Kadhmbahman died after hitting the ground when the leg restraints separated from the elastic bungy at the World Bungee Jump in Patong on May 27.
The business has since closed and the bungy platform has been demolished.
