Officers in Koh Tao, a holiday island in Surat Thani province, sounded an alarm after discovering ATM skimming had taken place there and tracing a stolen iPad to an address in Chalong on Phuket.
It was then a simple matter for officers from Chalong Police Station to follow the gps signal to an apartment that they raided at 12.30am.
Arrested in the raid were Juan Pablo Da Costa Varao, 21, from France, and Brazilians Philippe Andre Dias, 26, and Lucidio Firhino Da Silva jr, 24.
Investigating officers seized a computer notebook and equipment capable of recording electronic credit cards.
The men accepted they had the equipment but denied using it. Many withdrawals had been made, police said. Officers are continuing to question the three men.
A stolen phone equipped with card skimming gear in their possession doubt their denials have any credibility good catch by the police well done.
