Dokset appeared in Phuket Provincial Court to retell his version of events on the day that Rungnapa ''June'' Ratchasombut was killed.
The vivacious mother of three disappeared in 2009 and Dokset at first denied any knowledge of her whereabouts.
But after police found her remains in a wheelie bin at the large house they once shared in Kata on Phuket, he confessed to accidentally causing her death by pushing her into a wall.
Khun June's family do not blame Dokset and have accepted financial compensation of 1.8 million baht for the dead woman's mother and Khun June's three children, conditional on the sale of the Kata house.
Dokset arrived on Phuket on January 29, 2003, and he told the court yesterday that in the evening, he was invited to Khun June's birthday party.
For the next two weeks, they spent time together every day.
Later, after he returned again from Norway, the relationship blossomed. The pair decided to go into property development on Phuket together, but later, there were problems.
At the time of her death, Khun June was living with a policeman - the reason why Dokset decided to hide her body rather than explain what had happened.
The resumption of the trial and a likely verdict has by coincidence been scheduled for January 29 next year.
Exactly 12 years. 1 cycle of Jupiter. Thais believe strongly in cause and effect and tend to forgive as they feel the people have karma to be worked out even when people kill each other.
