you are speaking through BangLa Rd. lense perspective!

I know at least few cases in my close circle where putting people in a romantic surrounding , perhaps not on Phuket at all, but on some less crowded islands, generated unexpected effect that a woman finally was proposed after longtime civil relationships, or at least generated a pregnancy.

Sue,
I have heard some islands have very good generators and if the primary fails or loses power, there is usually a standby that can render the necessary assistance.
I suppose in the cases you refer to, if the answer is no, a pregnancy at least provides a memory of the occasion.

Manowar,

for sure stand-by generation service is also available at more islands, and as "Along Come Polly" instructional script is available, so low chance of error while rendering a requested assistance.
