Thailand low unemployment is slowly killing its future economic opportunity as there is no stimulus to develop knowledge, skills, no pressure to be competetive.

Unskilled/semi-skilled sector is high;y overheated as there are many more jobs than there are workers in Thailand for those jobs, that is evidenced by millions of guest workers at these jobs.

Actually, these unskilled/semi-skilled sectors, with a help of government policies, should be adjusted and downsized - YES - it means killing jobs in these sectors to create pressure and need for people to get better education.
Overheating of the bottom of the economy coupled with a design of society fabric that is a kleptocracy, that in turn kills meritocracy, only make the problem more procrastinated.

Thailand is stacked in what is called "middle income trap", when productivity growth reserves are exhausted,a country is not (extremely) poor, and it's by far not reach, and can't move out of status quo.

Are the Thai unemployment figures as accurate as their Tourism numbers?

The thai unemployment numbers are fairly accurate, and has been confirmed as such not only by thai sources/institutions but also by foreign economists and journals such as The Economist.
Anybody running a company and that employs people in Thailand would not be surprised at all, it's notoriously hard to keep your staff here, even in attractive jobs with good salaries and benefits. The fact that Thailand needs approximately 2,5 million workers, mostly from Burma, speaks volumes about the labour market here.

"Authorities temporarily closed a Pattaya gentlemen's club"

That's euphemising things somewhat isn't it? Gracious me, it's a knocking shop where you definitely wouldn't find 'gentlemen'.
