I have come across a new slant on this lack of education in central Thailand (Korat) - a growing number of expat teachers are becoming disillusioned as 1/2 their classes don't bother to open their books, knowing their well heeled families will buy their results. Then nepotism takes over when they get preferred jobs in banks, etc.

It is left to the poor Thais to study hard & hope to gain the necessary qualifications to find a niche somewhere that pays a decent salary.

Move over India & Vietnam; you are not alone in the cheating stakes!

Lena is 100% correct.

Trafficking is huge business as is slavery.

It is difficult to think of many more serious transnational crimes save for terrorism, arms trading and illegal drug dealing.

Trafficking in persons is right up there with some of the most serious crimes facing the world.
