Not a good morning for the blade runner defense team attempting to mitigate the sentence.
They called a correctional services officer who recommended a 3 year home detention period, however under cross examination he admitted he had not fully read the courts judgement. Proscuter Nel made him look quiet foolish and ended his questioning abruptly seemingly frustrated by the lack of consideration given to the judgement and him avoiding answers to the questions asked.
Defense is currently presenting details of the charity work Pistoris is involved in.

Day 4 of the Pistorius sentence hearing and it's become a bit of a circus. Proscutor Nel is clearly unprepared and over the first 3 days has requested numerous adjournments to consult with witnesses resulting in less than 3 hours of actual court time each day.
With only one day of allotted time left, it is unlikely Pistorious will be sentenced for at least a month. The sentencing hearing cannot be extended as the judge has commitments for the following 3 weeks. It is unlikely that final summations will be heard within the time frame available and therefor require written submissions by both parties.
In court today,
Pistorius's sister was threatened by self confessed murderer, Mikey Schultz, who has been sitting in the gallery with other Pistorius enemies, just after the latest adjournment.
It looking like somewhere between 3 and 5 years of either home detention or in a dedicated hospital section of prison set up to cope with prisoners having handicaps.

After a requested 2 hour adjournment to consult with witnesses, the proscutor returned to court, closed the prosecution's sentencing argument and final submissions are now being heard tomorrow.
It would now appear that it's all being rushed to meet tomorrow's deadline and Pros Nel is frustrated and unprepared after failing to achieve the murder conviction.

Pistorius sentenance to be handed down this Tuesday. Proscutor wants 10 years minimum. Defense wants 3 years home, periodic or detention in a special facility.

Huh? According to your reporter Chutima these rohingya weren't planning on going to Malaysia, and wanted to go back to their UNHCR camps in Bangladesh, then why did they escape in the first place?

afp Most of the 53 were Rohingya from UN-run camps in Bangladesh, according to Chutima Sidasathian of the Phuketwan news website who was present during interviews with the group. ''This is a new thing . . . before, we saw Rohingya displaced by violence who wanted to get to Malaysia, but this wasn't their plan - these people want to go back to the UNHCR camps,'' she said.

Editor Comment:

The Rohingya say they were kidnapped and had no intention of leaving the refugee camp. Look up the word ''kidnapped.'' Whether what they said is true remains to be proven.

Pistorius sentenced to 5 years in gaol for culpable homicide and 3 years for the firearm offence to be served concurrently. Never to hold a firearm licence again.
Proscutor Nel stated he will not appeal the sentence.

Interesting. Just announced that under the section he was sentenced, if after 1/6th of the sentence he is well behaved, he can be released to home detention.
The ANC women's league are protesting and intended to ask the national proscuter to appeal the case. They want him charged with murder.
