OK. Touchy subject. Jihadists ... not that popular at the moment. (I mean no disrespect to anyone affected by recent events.)

But execution of 50 people for (dispicable) beliefs ? (No actual action fortunately ...) Beliefs can be unlearnt if identified. There are 'almost Jihadists' that can speak to these, usually kids, about how they were brainwashed and used by powerful men under the guise of 'fundamental Islam'. (But not after execution.)

And how do we know Saudi authorities aren't using the recent bouts of terrorism to get rid of political opposition ?

Furthermore, aren't many of the would-be Jihadists disaffected citizens of modern countries ? They're being used. Disaffection isn't permanent. And guess what ? Their executions will be used to recruit more.

I'll get my coat ...

Fun fact, the 112 in Europe was coined while the dial on the phone was a wheel and the 1 and 2 was easy to dial, while it took long to dial the 0 or 9. I remember hating numbers with lots of zeros and high numbers, as it took so long and being as a kid physical much more challenging to dial the wheel all the way up from 0. Today you just have to talk to Siri. Or your heart rate monitor will get you an ambulance, before you know you are in trouble. In my old times the 991 would have sounded like:

tooktoktoktoktoktoktoktoktok, brrrrrrrf,
Tooktoktoktoktoktoktoktoktok, brrrrrrrf, tok, brr.

@Lena, the very reason you mentioned, i.e. it was hard for you, as a kid, to dial BIG numbers, is the reason Australia, and Britain, use 000, while kids playing with the phone found it easy to dial 111, 112 etc.

@Mow, here"s something to "discuss" with your mates, what is the original "digital" form of communications... Ans: Morse code, as sent via the telegraph wire, NOT radio.

Laurie,
yes, on or off, or 0 1.
I still remember as a kid that to make an overseas telephone call you had to book a time slot and the operator would call you when you were connected. The cost of the call was 100's of times what it costs today in terms of dollar and buying power.
