The comments came after reports the accused were tortured into confessing - an allegation Thailand has strongly denied.

Phuket Update A 20-year-old Burmese named ''Kla'' was arrested by Patong police for stealing an iPad, a camera and cash from a Korean family near Loma Park on Patong beach. More thefts are feared in the absence of beach vendors.

Not surprisingly both Koh Tao suspects are now on suicide watch, and Koh Samui prison may be not so well equipped to deal with it, as Western prisons with established procedures regularly failed here.

Actually, it feels that distributed information by oficials about suicude watch of suspects , could be thinly-weiled threat-promise...
Then a court on death of 2 Britons will not take a place and embarrassment about quality of investigation can be spared..

Or is it just yet another red-herring in the fish market of Koh Tao journalism? Stinks high to me.

You do have to feel very sorry for the two families of the deceased for not only the sorrow in losing their children but moreso the way the investigation has been mishandled from the beginning.
This investigation is being reported world wide as probably the biggest police cockup of all time and no clear resolution or closure would appear to be achievable in the near future.
