There is no shame in admitting "we do not have the technology or resources to combat this new level of terrorism" (who does?). Everyone would respect that. But to come out with some of the twaddle that has been given out this past week just destroys any credibility whatsoever. Drop this stupid archaic 'face' thing & catch up with the 21st century; the whole world needs to unite to beat terrorism & mundane rhetoric gets you nowhere & wins you no friends.

Statement to the world from Thailand: Everything is under control

That says it all for me - sorry, nothing is under control, either in Thailand or anywhere else in the world. There is a madness creeping around the world through all 24 time zones that is going to be hard to stop. Empty rhetoric does nothing to reassure people.

There are still fewer wars now than ever before in modern times, Logic. Terrorism is something new, but generally humankind is kinder and wiser.

The first arrest of a person since the bombing. A photojournalist carrying a bullet proof vest and saftey helmet used while covering the story now to be prosecuted in a military court for possession of illegal weapons.

Congratulations to officials on this major breakthrough!

Most of the surveillance cameras of the capital had been defective at the time of the attack. "On many streets, are perhaps 20 surveillance cameras, but only five of them work," said police chief Somyot Poompanmoung.

In addition, it lacks the necessary software to prepare the coarse-grained shots.
