By the time police caught up with Yongyut Chaisenee, 37, about 4pm on Tuesday, he'd had the chance to have a good look around Patong and Kalim, and passersby had had the chance to have a good look at him, too.
It seems that Khun Yongyut had gone looking for his wife, after the couple had had a disagreement. His clothes were found in a pile, close to the police post at the end of Soi Bangla.
When he was apprehended after his stroll, Khun Yongyut told officers he had been looking for his wife. They'd had a disagreement.
She had complained about his drinking, and other things, and headed out, leaving their home in Kamala. So Khun Yongyut, true to form, had a few drinks before going to look for her.
As she works in Patong, he wound up there. Just exactly why he thought his search would be more successful if he was naked wasn't made clear.
Police helped him to dress and took him to Kathu Police Station, where his family was expected to pick him up.
