Phuket's Beach Encroachers Have Just One Month Left, Says Vice Governor

Wednesday, May 7, 2014
PHUKET: Formal action would commence against Phuket's beach encroachers from the middle of next month, Vice Governor Jamleran Tipayapongtada warned at a meeting at Phuket Provincial Hall in Phuket City yesterday. He said the island's enforcers would begin with Kamala beach and move on to Surin, Kata and Karon. Court action was already underway against encroachers at Nai Yang beach, he said.

What about Nai Thon beach as well? After the middle of next month, are we just going to get another blast of hot air and no action?

Well I will not hold my breath, but I really hope they clear the beach areas this time.

How many times is it now we've heard this? When the low season arrives many of these places close up anyway. I'll take a bet now by next high season nothing will have changed.
