Burmese workers were hurled off a trailer as a truck crashed today

Phuket Workers Scattered as Truck Trailer Flips: Driver to Face Charges

Thursday, July 23, 2015
PHUKET: Thirteen Burmese workers were scattered into roadside scrub today when a truck's trailer flipped on Phuket's main highway soon after 8.10am

The driver will be questioned and possibly face serious charges because the trailer was not intended for transporting people.

''This is a case where the road surface was dry and the crash wass entirely due to driver negligence,''' said Colonel Sarayut Meeboon, officer in charge of traffic at Thalang Police Station.

The Burmese were sitting on the open trailer, towed behind the truck, when the structure became unstable and the instability led to the vehicle running off the road.

All 13 Burmese were treated and allowed to leave the hospital. The crash on the north-bound lanes came opposite the PTT petrol station as the workers headed for a construction site in Mai Khao, northern Phuket.

Today's incident is the latest in a series involving out-of-control trucks on Phuket.

All crashes are in reality due to driver error. Even if it snows. You drive according to whatever the weather conditions are.

Also I thought it was illegal to transport people in trucks, does anyone know the actual law on this?

Interesting its against the law not to wear a seat belt but its ok to fill the trailer of truck with people and drive along.

Ciaran: It would appear - given much evidence - that Burmese people in Thailand are not regarded as 'people' yet the Burmese don't appear to regard their neighbouring persecuted Muslims as 'people' either. It's a cruel world.

Go to dangeroustrailers.org and know all of these towing systems are defective only the idiots in Washington DC and NHTSA do not relize that towing is dangerous.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You're the queen of blah-blah. That's fifteen words.

It doesn't matter whether it's just 15 words, more or less, but whether they're apparently nonsensical as the 23.07. 18:48 comment of yours:

your comment is actually of the highest grade of non-sense, for me it seems the Non-sense of the Week.

You obviously had an urge to say smth. on the topic, but oops, that worked out like that.

Can't believe that after so many years in Thailand you are not aware the way how both Thai construction workers and guest construction workers are transported, that is in a pretty identical manner.

To "keep your cool" and to get some better control of yourself would not harm for you, say, first to think, and only then go to satisfy the urge to post.
It is a valuable quality in this country, and local people around will appreciate if you would depart from pernickety rush.

P.S. Last time I stayed in the Glasshouse in the Edinburgh, it was so terrible service, so that I've checked out on the second day, however I had a prepaid stay for a week, bastards even didn't care what the reason of an early check out.
