Algerian Mourad Bensemcha, 40, is accused of stealing from tourists

Phuket Tourists Robbed on Popular Beach by Foreigner, Say Police

Sunday, February 8, 2015
PHUKET: An Algerian man who stole a bag containing mobile telephones and cash from tourists on a Phuket beach was arrested within hours at the weekend, according to police.

Mourad Bensemcha, 40, was still at Kamala beach when police arrested him at 7pm on Saturday night with a bag containing a stolen iPhone 4, a stolen iPhone 5 and 3950 baht in cash that belonged to tourists Jerome Zufriden and Benjamin Merellati.

The theft took place at Kamala beach sometime between 3pm and 5pm, the two men said. They went straight to Kamala Police Station, close to the beach, when they discovered the bag was missing.

Police were able to determine that the telephones were still on the beach. That's where they arrested Mr Bensemcha.

Complicating his arrest for theft was the claim that police also found two lots of marijuana, totalling 5.8 grams, in his possession.

One incident makes your sweeping statement true? Don't even try that one, Papa-Jazz. Please provide your statistics. Oddly enough, the foreign thieves are the ones who don't get away with it.

Hi,
I have been robbed by a gang of ladyboys at 0245 on the 10th of this month on the main road near Siam bank..FIR has been registered and understand they have caught the gang but so far there is no upset on my lost goods. How do I follow up and with whom.
