The woman, believed to be from Kuwait, fell from the motorcycle and the bus ran over her head about 8.30pm, outside the Golden Sand Hotel and Mali restaurant, near the sharp corner turn on the road to Patong.
She and a man from Kuwait were bound for Patong when their motorcycle deviated sharply to avoid a parked motorcycle. The bus, travelling behind the Kuwaiti couple, clipped the rear of the vehicle, sending the rider off towards the pavement and the woman under the wheel.
The woman's body is in Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City. The man was not injured. The motorcycle had been parked in the no-standing zone since November 10, nearby residents said.
In a separate incident in Karon at 5.30am today, a delivery vehicle carrying desserts for convenience stores ran off the road and hit a pole. Five people were in the vehicle, with two trapped for more than one hour. Kusoldharm charity workers and Chalong police cut them free.
Two of the five - Panuwat Rangsimansuchat, 28, and Janira Suwan, 17 - were in a serious condition in Vachria Phuket Hospital. Also injured were Saranyu Janprak, Pirom Janprak and a child, Piyaporn Janprak.
Phuketwan supports Mothers or Motorcycles (MoM) an action group on Phuket aimed at encouraging road safety and especially the wearing of helmets on motorcycles.

Not very fast. Impossible for any vehicle to take that sharp bend and accelerate.
