PHUKET: Police have recovered most of the 240,000 b aht haul of computers stolen from a Phuket school after arresting a Burmese worker who admitted to the theft.
Lek, 29, tried to flee a construction workers' camp in Srisoonthorn, Thalang, but was cornered by officers on Monday.
In his room police found seven laptops and about 70 other stolen items.
Another Burmese worker, Wanchai, 33, was stopped and questioned by police when it was discovered he was carrying a laptop.
Wanchai told police he had bought the laptop from Lek for 2300 baht, so officers decided to investigate.
Lek later told police that he had been working at the Phuket City school and was able to check out where the valuable items were before carrying out the theft on July 20.
Wanchai and Lek both face serious charges.
