Original Report
PHUKET: Police in Phuket City are hunting a gunman who shot a woman through the temple and sped off on a motorcycle this afternoon.
Seerung Korsuk, 46, was shot at her food stall near the Nimit Circle about 3.45pm.
Witnesses in neighboring shops noticed the man had circled the area more than once, apparently making sure Khun Seerung was there, before parking his motorcycle and firing a shot through her right temple.
Khun Seerung survived the shot and was being operated on in the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation Hospital, east of Phuket City, late today.
The man police are seeking was wearing black shorts, a long-sleeved shirt and was about 165 centimetres tall.
Officers from Phuket City Police Station have been told Khun Seerung was involved in a family dispute.
Sad that so many petty disputes here are 'settled' at the barrel of a gun. there seems to have been a definite increase in (reported) shootings over the past twelve months.
