PHUKET: A former school bus driver who picked up his personal supply of drugs today was arrested at a Chalong Circle checkpoint as he headed for Phuket City, say police.
The man's white Isuzu two-door was blaring music loudly from a new 100,000 baht sound system, so police pulled over the vehicle.
A search inside revealed six ya ba methamphetamine tablets and two grams of ya ice, obliging police to impound both the Isuzu and its driver.
Chanwoot Manomas, 30, told police he was unemployed, and confessed to driving to the seafront at Nai Harn this morning where he picked up the drugs, police at Chalong, in southern Phuket, told Phuketwan.
Police suspect he may have been paying for his lifestyle by couriering ya ba and ya ice.
Khun Manomas, who lives in Rawai, was arrested about 4pm as he headed towards Phuket City. He has since been sent on to Phuket City from Chalong for a court appearance.
