Phuket Neighbors Fall Out in Wall Dispute: Man Shot Dead

PHUKET: Police on Phuket are hunting for a man they believe killed a neighbor in a dispute over access to a property last night. Wongdern Jaitong, 46, was building a wall that would have blocked access to other properties near Bang Wad Dam, in central Phuket. Residents reported the shooting about 9pm. Police are today hunting a man named Narongrit, aged 34.

What percentage of Phukets population have access to firearms. Seems they are very easy to come by.

So sad that murder is so often chosen as the primary tool for the resolution of a dispute here nowadays.
Unfortunately greed and selfishness seem to trump the value of life regularly.
I hope the situation improves in time...

I don't personally know a single thai man that don't own a gun. And no I don't have gangsters ad friends, it's pretty standard to own a gun in especially southern Thailand. I also have quite a few friends in Bangkok and Hua Hin, all of them own guns. My wifes father (retired principal in Phang Nga) own probably more than one, as do my brother in law. It's extremely common, yes
