PHUKET: A Ukrainian woman allegedly at fault in a motorcycle crash that injured two other people on Phuket was due to fly out tonight.
An Australian man and his Thai wife were injured when the Ukranian woman turned left into their path on November 23 in Phuket's main route, Thepkasattri Road. The Thai passenger was struck by a minivan and spent a week in hospital.
Tonight the Ukranian woman flies out after being told by doctors at Vachira Phuket Hospital that she is well enough to leave Phuket.
The investigating policeman said that security camera footage clearly showed the Ukrainian woman was at fault in the crash.
However, he said he could not charge her because she rembered nothing about what had happened.
''I have to have witnesses,'' he said. The policeman added that a brain scan showed the woman was functioning normally.
Phuketwan was unable to contact the Australian or his Thai passenger.
