PHUKET: A man has been charged with indecent exposure in a case involving a female tourist from Australia, say Phuket police.
Officers at Karon Police Station, on Phuket's west coast, confirmed that the alleged incident took place on Thursday evening at a resort in nearby Kata.
The woman was in her room at the resort, lying on a bed, when the man allegedly opened the door and exposed himself.
The man, a Thai, had been with a foreign man in a nearby room.
The woman ran to reception and asked them to contact police. The Australian was asked whether she wished to proceed with the case and she replied ''Yes.''
The man has since been arrested and charged. Police were not prepared to provide the man's name today.
One officer said officials from the Australian Embassy had asked them to not talk to the media about the case.
Phuketwan understands the Australian has moved to another resort elsewhere on Phuket.

A couple years ago an asian man exposed himself and masturbated in front of my girlfriend on Kata Beach, then a few months ago one of our guests reported an asian man exposing himself and masturbating along the path on the klong that runs along the north end of Club Med. I have since heard from locals that there is a local Thai man that is a serial indecent exposer.
