PHUKET: A celebrity deejay stashed drugs and guns in his Phuket apartment and tried to tell police he could not be arrested when officers came calling yesterday evening.
Two young women were with FM 94.5 deejay Somchai Chaiyathin, 33, when police knocked on the door of his Nanai Road apartment in Patong around 6.30pm, officers said.
Acting on a tip-off, officers entered and searched the apartment. Police allege they found two grams of ya ice methamphetamine, drug-taking paraphernalia, a home-made thai pradit gun and three imitation pistols.
Khun Somchai - the commentator at most major football matches held in Patong - told police the drugs and guns were not his, and he could not be arrested.
He and the two young women, Thidarat Nopparat, 18, and Supatar Boonrod, 19, were taken to Kathu police station and booked.
