Imagine bringing 3 kilos of meth from Qatar of all places! Of course she didn't get it there. She must have been transiting through Qatar from somewhere else. But she's very, very lucky she got caught in Phuket rather than Qatar, because she'd get the firing squad there. Lucky girl will get 5-10 years at most here considering it's meth and not coke. Of course you've got to question the intelligence of anyone trying to smuggle 3 kg of any drug, but coming through Qatar too... She's clearly got a death wish.

This is still slightly worrying. The fact of the matter is, the place she embarked should be scanning these bags. How about if it was something a lot more damaging, like a bomb? Or is it, "oh well we don't care she's got illegal substances, at least it isn't a bomb."

A bomb does not look like a pack of meth..It has a scan signature all of its own. But I guess you already knew that and just wanted to write something cool and eye catching? otherwise....Well, you should know better, let's leave it at that.

Since the followup article has been published we know she flew from SA to Doha to Phuket. It would seem Henry (and this is not the first of these mules caught on a route through Doha) that the death penalty is less of a concern to them when they are not caught. Say what you will but this lady went through 2 other airports before getting caught in Phuket. Congrats to HKT and the staff no matter what happens to the perps, catching them is the best deterrent to future traffickers.
